Topic: Main window

BackUp Maker's application window has three main areas. At the top, below the title bar you have the main menu. This contains the Program, the Configuration, the CD/DVD, the Update and the Help menus.

For a description of the main menu, please read the topic Main menu.

The second area is where you choose between backup or restore operations. This is where you decide whether to create a new backup job (topic Backup wizard) or restore data (topic Restore wizard).

The third area, at the bottom of the window, contains the list of jobs you have created. To the right of this list there are four icons providing you with additional options.

Object: Job list

BackUp Maker saves your settings in the form of "jobs". Each job contains information such as selected files/folders, type of backup, execution, etc. The job list shows all of the jobs you have created.

Column: Backup name

The backup name is a unique name that you use to identify a particular job. You assign this name with the Backup wizard, in the step called Backup name.

Column: Next backup

You have the option of scheduling each job for automatic execution at a particular time. The next backup time is shown in the second column of the job list.

Note: n/a in Next backup column

If a particular job cannot be performed automatically, the second column displays "n/a". This means you have to initiate the job manually.

Buttons: Add, Edit, Delete and Execute

To the right of the job list there are four icons, arranged vertically. Use the Add button to add a new job to the backup job list. Use the Edit button to load the settings that belong to the highlighted job and to open the Backup wizard. Click on the Delete button if you wish to delete the highlighted job(s). The settings associated with these jobs are lost. Click on the Execute button if you wish to start the highlighted jobs in alphanumerical order.

Popup menu: Job list

Right-clicking on the jobs list opens up a popup menu containing the following options associated with the highlighted jobs.

Option: Execute

Option: Active
